An Israeli spokesman here described as “sheer nonsense” a report from Cairo carried by an Indian news agency today alleging that Israel was planning to boycott firms doing business with India in retaliation for the latter country’s official support of the Arab states in the Middle East dispute.
Yaacov Yannay, deputy director of the economic division of the Israeli Foreign Ministry, told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency that the report was a “fabrication” by the Arabs in an attempt to mislead Indian public opinion and turn Israel’s friends in India against her.
