The question of the maltreatment of Jews by revenue officials, particularly in Bessarabia, was raised in the Roumanian Parliament today by Deputy Michael Landau.
The Jewish deputy referred at length to the case of a small Jewish trader, Motti Pekl of Kishinev, who was attacked by revenue officials when he insited that he had already paid his taxes, as reported by “Unser Zeit.”
