Yigal Allon, Deputy Prime Minister of the State of Israel, will launch the 1970 campaign for Israel Bonds at an International Inaugural Conference scheduled from Thursday. February 26 through Sunday. March 1 at the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach. Plans for the four-day parley, which will open a drive to sell a record total in Israel Bonds during 1970, were announced today by Samuel Rothberg, National Campaign Chairman of the Israel Bond Organization, who will serve as Chairman of the Conference. Mr. Allon, who is also Israel’s Minister of Education, is coming to the United States to be the guest of honor at the conference. More than 2,000 Jewish leaders from communities throughout the United States and Canada are expected to participate in the Conference sessions. The 1970 Israel Bond drive has as its objective the provision of at least half of Israel’s Development Budget of $500,000,000 for the year. Stressing the importance of the campaign this year. Mr. Rothberg pointed out that Israel’s economic needs had been increased as a result of the unresolved crisis in the Middle East and the substantial rise in immigration.
