Armand Lavergne, deputy speaker of the Canadian Parliament, in reply to an inquiry addressed to him by the Jewish Telegraphic Agency today, denies he is an anti-Semite but affirms his belief that the Jews were responsible for ritual murders.

“I am not an anti-Semite,” M. Lavergne states. “I am not interested in the Goglu campaign. I believe Jewish ritual murder is historically proven. That is all.”

Mr. Lavergne aroused the indignation of the Canadian Jewish Community with the publication of an article in “Le Miroir,” organ of the anti-Semitic Goglu brothers, wherein he approved the accusation of the Goglus that the Jews commit ritual murders.
