Pittsburgh charitable and welfare organizations have been bequeathed $23,000 by the will of Abram J. DeRoy, senior partner of a jewelry firm, who died in France recently.
The bequests range from $200 to $10,000, the largest donation going to the Jewish Family Association for the establishment of a free loan fund to be used in making loans to poor families without security or interest. The Gusky Orphanage, received $2,000, as did the Rodef Shalom Congregation. Other institutions benefitting by the will were the Jewish Philanthropic Association, Montefiore Hospital, Union of Hebrew Congregations of Cincinnati, the Jewish Home for the Aged, and various others.
