Despite a flood of criticism aimed at agreement between the International Refugee Organization and Australian Immigration mister Arthur A. Calwell, providing for the admission of 5,000 European refugees to stralia this year and more next year, the government is making preparations for the plementation of the agreement, it was reported here today.

Prime Minister John B. Chiffley told a press conference today that the government will not be moved by the “uninformed criticism,” much of which is anti-Jewish in ##ure, and that it will combat anti-Semitism wherever possible. He also revealed at Calwell went to Europe with full Cabinet authority to admit refugees with but ## conditions: that they be in good health, and that they be “free of political fasticism.” (Calwell arrived in New York today where he will spend a few days before ##tinuing his homeward journey.)
