Despite growing unemployment in Israel, there has been a shortage of manpower for the work on the construction of new airfields in the Negev, according to Deputy Defense Minister Mordechai Zipori. As a consequence, he said, workers are needed from abroad. Zipori said the American contractors building the airfields were still looking for some 200 Israeli workers, six months after they reported the need.
