Following action of the Federal Bar Association of New York in protesting the oppression of lawyers on account of their race and religion, the Detroit Bar Association has adopted a similar resolution. It reads:
“Resolved, that the Detroit Bar Association join in the protest of the Federal Bar Association of New York against the oppression of its brethren of the Bar on account of their race and religion by the German government and further
“Resolved, that the Detroit Bar Association join in the communication of the members of the New York Bar Association forwarded the Secretary of State of the United States by the secretary of the New York Bar Association on behalf of Messrs. Elihu Root, John W. Davis, Samuel Seabury, James W. Gerard, and others, and the officers of the Detroit Bar Association forward this resolution to the Secretary of State for transmission to the German Government if consistent with diplomatic usage and custom.”
