The Detroit City Council today adopted unanimously a resolution condemning the United Nations anti-Zionist resolution, Council President Carl Levin read the text of the city’s resolution at a specially convened press conference at which the position of Zionism was outlined, Jewish, Catholic and Protestant representatives were present as well as leaders and members from the white and Black communities to express their disgust at the UN resolution The press conference was broadcast live by all radio and television stations in the city.
In a similar action the Los Angeles City Council also adopted a resolution condemning the UN anti-Zionist measure and condemned those who took a stand for it. It also commended those who voted against the measure.
