The Detroit Allied Jewish Campaign will be formally launched Sunday night at the Hotel Statler with a dinner at which leaders in distant cities will be heard by means of a long-distance telephone broadcasting system.

The quota this year includes a special sum of $100,000 for the building of a Jewish Old Folks’ Home. An additional sum of $170,000 is to go for the maintenance funds of nine local institutions, including the Old Folks’ Home and Hebrew schools, and twenty national and international agencies, among them the German Jewish relief fund and Palestine reconstruction work.

Fred M. Butzel is the general chairman of this year’s drive, which, it is emphasized, is a campaign of revival, of shaking off the psychology of self-pity.
