Plans are being formulated here for a drive to plant 1,000 trees in a Detroit Wood in the Washington Forest in Palestine. The campaign, under the direction of the Jewish National Fund Council of which Leon Kay is president, has the support and co-operation of fifteen organizations.
Tentative plans call for a preliminary conference of all organizations in the city to arrange for the drive, which is to be conducted during October. The campaign is to culminate with a banquet or massmeeting on Sunday evening, Oct. 30, on which day the Michigan State Zionist Conference is to be held here.
