A gift of $75,000 for the Haifa Technical Institute by Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Brody of this city was announced at a dinner in behalf of the Technion, where the chief speaker was Dr. Walter C. Lowdermilk, noted American soil conservationist who has accepted a post to teach at the Technion. The Brodys’ gift–the largest single gift in Detroit to the school–brought the total raised in Detroit this year for the Technion to $160,000.
