The Council of Jewish Federations and Welfare Funds, comprising 177 federations, welfare funds and community councils in 143 cities in the United States and Canada, will hold its seventh annual General Assembly in Detroit on January 27, 28 and 29, it was announced by Sidney Hollander of Baltimore, president of the Council. Delegates from local community agencies, Mr. Hollander said, will discuss war-time requirements of refugee, overseas and Palestinian causes and consider methods of organizing local communities more effectively to provide for changing local needs.
