Commenting on Henry Ford’s statement, Rabbi Leo M. Franklin, who was at one time a friend of Mr. Ford, said:
“The Jews of the world should be glad to grant to Mr. Ford the forgiveness which he seeks at their hands. They should accept his word that he has been misled in the information upon which he has based his accusations against them.
“It is my thorough-going belief that Mr. Ford will do all in his power to prove the sincereity of his repentance. It is the part of the Jew to forgive. It requires a man of courage to admit his errors. Mr. Ford in this instance has shown himself to be a thoroughly courageous man.”
