Jewish boys and girls will be excused without loss of class credits when they absent themselves from school on the forthcoming Holy Days.

This statement was made to Milton M. Alexander by Frank Cody, superintendent of Detroit schools, when Mr. Alexander called his attention to the occurrence of the Holy Days shortly after the opening of the school year.

“Please be assured that absence from school on the Jewish Holy Days will be excused without any loss of class credits,” said Mr. Cody. “It has always been the policy of our department to encourage religious observance and to do everything in our power to co-operate toward this end.”
