Synagogues in the Detroit area have collected 37 Scrolls to send to Israel, it was revealed here today in the wake of a drive by Rabbis S.P. Wohlgelernter and Joshua S. Sperka and the local chapter of the Mizrachi organization
The campaign was launched following an appeal from the Israeli Ministry of Religion which asked American Jews to send Torabs for new immigrant settlements. There is a particular need for the Scrolls for groups of Polish Jews who recently arrived in Israel.
