The 800th anniversary of the birth of Moses Maimonides, which will be observed on April 17, 1935, will be marked by a city-wide celebration here in which all synagogues and organizations are expected to participate.
Congregation Shaarey Zedek plans the organization of a large committee for the celebration, and a call has been issued, over the signatures of Isaac Shetzer, president, and Dr. A. M. Hershman, rabbi, for an organization meeting on August 2.
The Maimonides Medical Society also announces that it has made plans for a celebration next year, and the event will also mark the society’s twenty-fifth anniversary. Dr. N. E. Aronstam is chairman of the committee. Serving with him are Dr. H. M. Kirschbaum, president of the society, Dr. Charles Lakoff and Dr. Herbert I. Kallett.
