The House Immigration Committee today refused to adopt an amendment offered by Representative Dickstein to the Harris bill to establish an additional quota for Mexico instead of charging this quota against the existing one of 150,000 annually of immigrants admissible under the immigration law, which would reduce the rest of immigration about 2,000, the estimated Mexican quota.
