Simcha Dinitz. Israel’s Ambassador to the United States, lashed out yesterday at the statement made several days earlier by Egyptian President Anwar Sadat at the meeting of the Palestine National Council in Cairo that the Arabs would not “cede a single inch” of pre-1967 territory to Israel. Speaking to 800 delegates at the mid-winter conference of the National Committee for Labor Israel. Dinitz stated that “these doctrines prevent peace which can be based only on a doctrine of security.” He said that Israel would never allow Arab guns to return to the 1967 borders.

“While Israel is ready to compromise on territory, it will not compromise on security.” Dinitz emphasized. “The PLO will never sit with us in Geneva, because we will never negotiate with terrorists bent on our destruction. The Palestine question can and will be solved in the context of negotiations with Jordan. The Palestinians and Jordanians are one people.” Mayor Abraham Beame, sharing the luncheon platform with Dinitz, conveyed the greetings of the City of New York to Histadrut.

Col. Amizur Kfir, of the Israel Consulate, presented the “Medal of the Negev” to Joseph Konowe, a veteran supporter of Histadrut, secretary-treasurer of Local 210 of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.
