Likud expects Israel’s Ambassador to Washington Simcha Dinitz to resign when it forms a new government but Israel’s current Ambassador to the United Nations, Chaim Herzog, will be asked to remain on the job Likud sources said today.

They said that Dinitz, who was a top aide to former Premier Golda Meir before he was named Ambassador to the U.S., is considered politically involved with the Labor Alignment. Herzog, although appointed by a Labor government, is highly regarded by Likud, the sources said.
