Isidore Sobeloff, for the past six years executive director of the Jewish Welfare Federation of Detroit, has been granted a year’s leave of absence, effective June 1, to help organize a National War Fund in New York City, Abraham Srere, Federation president, announced here today. Herman M. Pekarsky, general administrative assistant of the Federation, has been named acting director in Mr. Sobeloff’s absence.
Mr. Sobeloff will be associated with Percival Dodge, former director of the Detroit War Chest, who has been named executive director of the New York Committee to conduct a united drive for U.S.O., United Nations war relief appeals and other war related causes.
