Jacob Landau, Managing Director of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency and the “Jewish Daily Bulletin.” returned to New York Saturday on the steamer “Berengaria” following an extended through Europe.
Mr. Landau, whose European trip covered a period of four months, made an intensive study of the Jewish situation in the various countries of Europe. He interviewed a number of leading figures in the countries where the Jewish situation is acute. He had conversations with the President of Austria, Dr. M. Heniseh; the Hungarian Ministery of Education. Count Klebelsberg; the Polish Minister, Zalewski, and numerous other prominent political leaders and government officials.
Mr. Landau has brought back with him many documents of importance relating to the economic and legal status of the Jews in Poland, Austria, Romania. Germany and other countries of Eastern and Central Europe. He also secured interesting information while in Paris, regarding the Schwartzbard trial which will be opened in January.
