An erroneous dispatch concerning the expulsion from Iraq of two Palestinian Jewish schoolmasters was brought in from Baghdad by the Bureau de la Presse Orientale. The B. P. O. account said:
“The government has expelled two foreigners, one of whom is the principal of a Jewish school in Iraq and the other a teacher in the same school, for having taken in subversive activity and conducting Zionist propaganda.
“Both men came from Warsaw to Baghdad five years ago.”
In the first place, the two Jews did not come from Warsaw, but from Palestine. In the second, they took up residence in Iraq two years ago, not five.
