Beginning Sunday, March 5, and continuing until March 26th, an exhibition of beautifully illuminated parchment and leather Scrolls of the Book of Esther, some of them dating back to the sixteenth century, and representing almost every country in Europe and the Orient, will be shown at the Museum of Jewish Ceremonial Objects in the Library building of the Jewish Theological Seminary of America.
This exhibition is arranged in connection with the Jewish festival of Purim, which occurs on March 12. The Seminary’s collection of illuminated and printed megillot in Hebrew and other languages, is one of the largest in existence.
