Eighteen YM-YWHA’s and Jewish community centers in the greater New York area reopened today after being shut down for more than a week due to a dispute with a labor union representing professional, clerical and maintenance workers.
The dispute was settled in negotiations concluded early this morning by Morris Tarshis, senior mediator of the City Labor Department. The terms include salary increases. The union voted acceptance of the terms.
