The Left Socialist Party, left-wing extremist politicial faction led by Dr. Moshe Sneh, has given up its independent status and merged with the Communist Party of Israel. Dr. Sneh has begun to write for the Communist daily, Kol Haam.
Dr. Sneh had led the group out of Mapam, the leftist labor party, at the time of the arrest of Jewish doctors in Moscow on conspiracy charges, when the Mapam took a critical attitude toward the developments within the Soviet Union.
Accession of Dr. Sneh and his followers to Communist ranks was hailed by Communist members of the Knesset as the group’s “deliverance from Zionism.”
