Dissolution of the Jewish Agency was recommended to the Anglo-American inquiry committee by the Palestine Government, David Ben Gurion, chairman of the Agency executive, asserted today.
Ben Gurion, who spoke before a conference in Haifa of the Palestine Labor Party, said that the Government’s memorandum to the committee included a proposal for continuance of the White Paper and abolishment of Hebrew and Arabic as official languages.
The Arab press today publishes what it said is the full text of Ibn Saud’s memorandum to the inquiry committee, which was submitted to a sub-committee which visited the Arab king last month. In it, Ibn Saud warns Britain and America that they will face the vengeance of the Arab and Moslem worlds, unless they curb the Jews in Palestine.
“I would like to emphasize to you that if Jewish immigration to Palestine and the selling of Arab land to Jews continues, the British and American governments will have to face the hate not only of the Arab world, but also of all the Moslems in India, China and other countries of the world,” Ibn Saud is quoted as saying.
The papers state that Ibn Saud declared it was “strange” that President Truman proposed the immigration of 100,000 Jews to Palestine “while refusing to permit Jews to enter his country.” The King declared that President Roosevelt told him “he was convinced that Palestine was not the place for the Jews,” the report added.
