Delegates elected by the lodges and auxiliaries of District No. 1, B’ nai B’rith, embracing the New England States, New York State, and the eastern portion of the Dominion of Canada will meet in annual convention at Montreal, Que. on May 26 to 28, according to a statement issued by Lawrence White, secretary of District Grand Lodge No. 1.
Numerous problems of great concern to B’ nai B’ rith and to Jewry in general will be discussed, particularly the extension of the activities of the Anti-Defamation League into Canadian territory, where anti-Semitism recently has been so intense.
Alfred M. Cohen, president of the order; Dr. I. M. Rubinow, secretary; Richard E. Gutstadt, director of the Anti-Defamation League and McKensie King, former Premier of the Dominion of Canada, will be the principal speakers.
