All government contracts let by the District of Columbia in the future will contain anti-discrimination clauses to bring the District’s policy in line with that of the Federal Government, Secretary of Labor James P. Mitchell announced yesterday. It is estimated that contracts totalling $30,000,000 annually will be affected by the policy.

The action was taken at the suggestion of a subcommittee of the President’s Committee on Government Contracts. The policy will become effective as of Nov. 16.
