M. Dizengoff, one of the founders of the city of Tel Aviv and former mayor, was again elected to this post at a meeting of the new city council.
The return of Mayor Dizengoff was made possible by the victory of the middle classes during the last municipal election, after the election ordinance had been charged by the government. Dizengoff withdrew from the post three years ago when the labor groups gained control of the city council.
