(Jewish Daily Bulletin)
Threats emanating from an unknown source against the Rev. Russell H. Bready and his church if the minister carries out a plan to have a flag pole which was presented to the church by Louis Goldman, a prominent Port Huron Jew, dedicated on Armistice day by Msgr. Patrick R. Dunnigan, a high official in the Catholic church, culminated with the partial demolition of the Rev. Bready’s study.
Several days ago Mr. Bready was threatened by three men whom he has been unable to identify. Another man appeared at the pastor’s home and terrorized Mrs. Bready. Policemen stationed in the church several nights ago failed to arrest four men seen prowling about the grounds.
The chief objection seems to be against Msgr. Dunnigan. The Rev. Bready said that Msgr. Dunnigan would make the dedicatory address despite the threats. Tear gas will be ready for any emergency and American Legion officers have been ordered to wear loaded sidearms.
