Dorothy Reitman, president of the Canadian Jewish Congress, and Barbara Stern, chairman of its Canadian Committee for Soviet Jewry, are encouraging the community to call for the immediate release of refusenik Ida Nudel from the Soviet Union. Nudel, who lives in Bendery, Moldavia, served a four year sentence in Siberia for a minor infraction of a municipal law. She is ill and is prevented from joining the only surviving member of her family, Ilana Fridman, In Israel.
