Dr. A. Meyer, director-general of the Israel Health Ministry, reported today that health officials have succeeded in checking and preventing the spread of contagious disesaes–including poliomyelitis–in the Jewish state. Meanwhile, the 36th case of polio in the Samaria area was reported here, but health officials explained that this does not indicate the existence of an infantile paralysis epidemic.
