Dr. Abraham I. Katsh, president of The Dropsie University, was awarded Friday a Citation of Honor by the Jewish Library Association of Greater Philadelphia for his “wide and constructive work In the field of Jewish libraries.” The citation called attention to his founding and for many years directing the Library of Judaica and Hebraica at New York University, his microfilming of ancient Hebrew manuscripts In Russia and other Eastern European countries which he made available to The Dropsie University library and his authorship of numerous books. Accepting the citation. Dr. Katsh paid tribute to the Jewish librarians and laymen who are collecting books of Jewish interest.
