Funeral services were held here today for Dr. Aron Syngalowski, president of the executive committee of the World ORT Union, who died in Paris last Sunday. Dr. Syngalowski, who had joined ORT in 1920 and was one of the founders of the World ORT Union a year later, was 66.
Dr. William Haber, president of the central board of the central board of the world ORT group, in a message of mourning to the funeral services, described Dr. Syngalowski’s death as “a loss beyond words” to the world ORT movement.
Reviewing the late leader’s career in ORT work, Dr. Haber asserted that, “It was his initiative, often against great odds and sometimes even against the doubts or hesitations of those who were closest to him, that established the present network of vocational programs in Israel, North Africa and Iran and the unique institute for training instructors at Anieres.”
