Dr. Jules Backman, an economist, author and educator, has been chosen to head the 1966-67 campaign of the Reform Jewish Appeal. His appointment as general chairman was announced today by Irvin Fane, chairman of the board of trustees of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations, and S. L. Kopald, Jr., chairman of the board of trustees of the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, the two national institutions of the Reform Jewish movement in America. The Reform Jewish Appeal fosters the growth of Reform Judaism by annually raising funds for the support of the UAHC and HUC-JIR.
