Dr. Jacob Bernstein-Cogan, well-known Zionist leader in Bessarabia, died in Ekaterinoslav, Russia, on May 12, a report received here today states.
Dr. Bernstein-Cogan, who was born in this city in 1859, was one of the early workers in the Zionist movement and took an active part in its work in pre-war Russia. Following the World War he proceeded to Palestine, where he spent some time but could not adjust himself to the new environment. Recently he left Palestine for Soviet Russia.
