Funeral services will be held tomorrow for Dr. Alfred Bonne, economist, sociologist and Dean of the Eliezer Kaplan School of Economics and Social Science of the Hebrew University, who died here Friday after a prolonged illness. He was 60 years old.
Born in Nuernberg, Germany, Dr. Bonne settled in Palestine in 1925 and was appointed head of the Near East Economic Archives. He joined the faculty of the Hebrew University in 1936 and wrote several books on the social economy of the Middle East. He was visiting professor at Columbia University in 1951 and again in 1954 and last year he carried out research at Harvard University under a grant from the Ford Foundation.
