Joseph Bychowski, long-time active Zionist Laborite and leader of Polish Jewry, died here this week-end. He was 67.
Born in Warsaw and active in Jewish National Fund and Palestine Foundation Fund activities before the war, Mr. Bychowski was a founder and chairman of the Organization of Polish Jews in Sweden and a relief organization which helped 10,000 Polish Jewish refugees from 1940 on. He was also a founder of the Swedish section of the World Jewish Congress and was a member of the executive of the Swedish and world Mapai parties.
