Ex-Deputy william Filderman, the President of the Union of Roumanian Jews, and one of the outstanding Jewish personalities in Roumania, has been elected by the Council of the Bucharest Jewish Community, as President in succession to ex-Senator Eli Bercovici. Fifty members voted in favour of Dr. Filderman, seven voted against and six abstained.
The office of President of the Bucharest Jewish Community carries with it at the same time the Presidency of the Federation of Jewish Communities in Roumania.
