Dr. Louis Finkelstein, member of the faculty of the Jewish Theological Seminary of America, has been named a member of the B’nai B’rith Hillel Foundation Commission, it was announced yesterday by Alfred M. Cohen, president of B’nai B’rith.
Dr. Finkelstein was born in Cincinnati in 1885 and was educated at the College of the City of New York, at Columbia University, and the Jewish Theological Seminary of New York. He has served as rabbi in New York City and has been vice-president of the Rabbinical Assembly of the Jewish Theological Seminary of America. He is the author of several scholarly books on Jewish history and literature.
