Dr. Gerhart M. Riegner, secretary general of the World Jewish Congress, announced Friday the affiliation of the Permanent Standing Committee of the World Conference of Synagogues and Kehiloth as an associated international organization of the WJC. The Permanent Standing Committee, under the auspices of the Chief Rabbis of Israel and of the Diaspora communities, unites Orthodox Synagogues and Kehiloth throughout the world, he said.
