The present “weakness” of the Zionist Organization makes “the entrance of new forces indispensable, ” Dr. Nahum Goldmann, president of the World Zionist Organization, declared here last night. He made the statement in an address at the fourth territorial convention of the Confederation of Brazilian Jews.
Dr. Goldmann also spoke of the situation of the Jews in the Soviet Union. Declaring that they suffer “from lack of religious and cultural freedom, ” he said the fate of Russian Jewry “concerns all Jews.” He accused the United Arab Republic of “menacing all world peace” through its “obstinacy in not recognizing Israel” and through its piling of arms obtained from the Soviet bloc.
