The formal ratification of the agreement between the Israel Government and the Jewish National Fund, establishing a Joint land authority, was hailed here today as a demonstration of “the high measure of confidence which the people repose in the Jewish National Fund,” by Dr. Nahum Goldmann, president of the World Zionist Organization.
Stressing that by assuming increased responsibilities, the burdens as well as the opportunities of the Jewish National Fund have been greatly enlarged, Dr. Goldmann appealed to American Jews “to make the traditional gifts” to the JNF, enabling it to shoulder its increased obligations and to fulfill its historic task of land development and afforestation.
