Dr. Nahum Goldmann reported today to the Jewish Agency executive plenary on negotiations with West Germany for reparations for Jewish victims of Nazism who were unable to file claims before the October 1953 deadline because they were trapped in Iron Curtain countries.
Dr. Goldmann stressed the urgency of getting enabling legislation through the West German Parliament promptly to avoid another year’s delay in claims totaling hundreds of millions of dollars. He also reported on the situation of Soviet Jewry.
