Dr. Ezekiel Gordon, an Israeli senior officer in the Division of Human Rights of the United Nations Secretariat, died in a hospital here today at the age of 57.
Born in Russia, he received a doctorate in law from Paris University in 1931. He taught at the university and later was on the faculties of two law schools in Egypt. He served in the French Army in World War I and settled in Palestine after the war, becoming a member of the Palestine bar. He joined the UN Secretariat in 1947, and served there until his death except for a two-year period, 1949 to 1951, when he was director of the International Organizations Division of the Israeli Ministry for Foreign Affairs.
