Dr. Edwin Guggenheim, president of B’nai B’rith’s continental European district, died here December 28. He was 68.
A prominent Zurich attorney, he was active in restoring B’nai B’rith in Europe following its destruction by the Nazis during World War II. Dr. Guggenheim helped re-establish B’nai B’rith in 10 countries. In 1955 he was elected president of the European district chartered that year by B’nai B’rith. He held the post until his death. Dr. Guggenheim also served on the B’nai B’rith International Council.
