The re-election of Dr. Harris J. Levine as president of the Jewish National Fund of America was announced here today, following a meeting of the J.N.F. board of directors. In thanking the board, Dr. Levine said that the J.N.F. is today very popular among the Jews in the United States as testified by the fact that the sum of $28,000,000 has been raised in this country by the Fund in pennies, nickels and dimes contributed since 1910, in addition to larger sums obtained through fund-raising agencies.
Others elected to office are Dr. Israel Goldstein, honorary president; Louis Segal, honorary secretary; Jacob Sincoff, treasurer; and Miss Julliet N. Benjamin and Rabbi Mar Kirshblum, associate treasurers. Mendel N. Fisher was elected to his sixteenth consecutive one-year term as secretary and executive director.
