Dr. Hollender Elected President of the Jewish Federations of Chicago

Dr. Samuel S. Hollender was elected, president of the Jewish Federation of Chicago to succeed Mortimer B. Harris at a board of directors meeting held here. He takes over the presidency of the philanthropic organization in its 57th year of operation.

Dr Hollender is a former chairman and present honorary chairman of the national executive board of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations. He is also a director of the National Jewish Welfare Board and the Joint Distribution Committee. The Jewish Federation is the coordinating and planning body for twelve medical and social welfare agencies currently serving 167,000 people in Chicago and suburbs.
