Dr. Israel Goldstein, president of the American Jewish Congress, met this morning with President Eisenhower at the White House. On leaving the White House, Dr. Goldstein said:
“During our conference I discussed with the President a number of problems in which the American Jewish Congress is especially interested and which we feel are of considerable significance both for our domestic and foreign policies. These included revision of our immigration laws, matters pertaining to civil rights and civil liberties and problems relating to Israel.
“The President received me with characteristic warmth and I am certain that he will give serious consideration to the problems which were the subjects of out discussion.”
